Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using ContextSynth ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
ContextSynth provides an API service that allows you to:
- Ingest unstructured customer data
- Query customer information using natural language
- Access AI-synthesized customer profiles
All customer data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption with tenant-specific encryption keys.
3. API Usage and Limitations
Your use of the API is subject to rate limits and quotas based on your subscription tier:
- Free: 1,000 ingests/month, 100 queries/month, 10 requests/minute
- Pro: 50,000 ingests/month, 5,000 queries/month, 100 requests/minute
- Scale: 500,000 ingests/month, 50,000 queries/month, 1,000 requests/minute
Exceeding these limits may result in request throttling or service suspension.
4. Data Ownership and Licensing
Your Data: You retain all rights to any data you submit to the Service. We do not claim ownership of your customer data.
License to Use: By submitting data, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and synthesize your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
AI Training: We do not use your data to train AI models. Your data is used exclusively for generating responses to your queries.
5. Data Security and Privacy
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- AES-256-GCM encryption for all customer data at rest
- Tenant-specific data encryption keys (DEKs) wrapped by a master key
- PII redaction before sending data to AI models
- TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Comprehensive audit logging (without storing customer data)

6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Submit malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
- Violate the privacy rights of others
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
7. API Keys and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys. Any activity using your API keys is your responsibility. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
8. Service Availability
We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, or due to factors beyond our control.
9. Payment and Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file. Failure to pay may result in service suspension or termination.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ContextSynth shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ContextSynth operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
